Sales Policy

**After long consideration, we have decided to go a different route with dairy and are no longer raising Nigerian Dwarf goats.**

Thank you for your interest in purchasing a goat kid at Fair Fables Farm. We have terms of sale in order to ensure a happier exchange.

Reservation and Pick-up

-Kids are sold on a first come, first served basis, and all sales are final.

-It is free to be placed on a waiting list for a kid from a breeding pair prior to birth, contact us to let us know.

-Kids will be partially bottle-fed the doe's milk during the first few weeks of life, while also being dam-raised. Bottle-fed kids can be purchased for pick-up after 2 weeks old. Otherwise, kids are generally weaned at around 8 weeks old.

-Kids must be reserved with a non-refundable deposit worth 50% of the purchase price in order to be held. If there is evidence of illness, deformity, or death, the deposit will be returned.

-Kids with a deposit will be held for only 1 week after pick-up date (in the case of having to reschedule due to an emergency). Fees of $2/day after the 1 week will incur until the animal is picked up in order to cover boarding/feed costs.

-Kids will be resold after 3 weeks if not picked up by then.
-Fair Fables Farm reserves the right to retain any kids from any breeding at any point prior to sale. We reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason.
-Shipping is not available, kids must be picked up.

-We reserve the right to sell our goats only to homes that already own or will own at least one other goat at the time the goat would be due to leave our farm. Goats are herd animals and require another goat to be adequately happy.

- All bucklings still at the farm past 10 weeks will be wethered to prevent unintended breeding with our does.

Health

We sell animals that are healthy at the time of transfer. A purchaser has the right to a full veterinary examination at his/her expense on any animals to be purchased. We will not claim any responsibility for the health of an animal purchased from us from the time it leaves the farm, unless we are presented with a vet’s official statement that the animal in question had a condition prior to transfer. The risk of loss transfers once the animal leaves our farm. Health certificates and any additional disease testing are available at the expense of the buyer.

We try to maintain a holistic approach to disease/virus prevention and thus, do not administer CDT shots or any other vaccinations for our animals.
